The previously unnamed woman from the Sly Cooper demo discs, she was the original checkpoint in said demos, not much is known about her as she was never seen, or mentioned of, again.

Zag was originally going to be the checkpoint system in the first Sly Cooper game: she was in two of the demos before she was removed for unknown reasons, Zag appeared out of a wooden treasure chest and photographed the raccoon (much better and really adorable too) in the final product, she was replaced by a short metal pedestal with a spherical version of Sly Cooper's logo.

Zig, on the other hand, did not appear in either of the two demos, it’s currently unknown what role he would have played, however my best guess would be that Zig would have taken photos of the female protagonist, whereas Zag would have photographed the male protagonist.
